Sun Up Challenge 2021

Supporting Red Kite with thanks for the support they gave us

I can still clearly remember the day Lani was diagnosed with cancer.  Walking into the Children's Oncology Unit at John Hunter Hospital.  Tthe hushed conversations, the sheer terror I was feeling that I was trying to hide from her. The friendly faces, the tears, the tests, looking at the other kids receiving treatment and thinking how will we get through this.  And that night walking out with a RedKite Country Road Duffle bag of goodies over my shoulder that still sits in the corner of my cupboard and symbolises a trip to hospital.

Red Kite provided financial support in the form of paying bills, providing gift vouchers for groceries, all the practical things a family going through this journey needs.

That’s why I’m setting my alarm to join Redkite for the Sun Up Challenge – to help provide emotional and practical support to families facing childhood cancer.

I’ll be taking action by walking every morning at sun up this September, to raise money that will help families pay the bills, access emotional support, and more. From day one in the hospital and for as long as it takes, your help ensures that families don’t have to face their child’s cancer diagnosis alone.

Please support me by making a tax-deductible donation to my challenge. Your generosity will make sure that Redkite can provide even more families facing childhood cancer practical and emotional support and care.
